- Handbag/wallet/purse with the maximum length 37.5 cm (15 inches), width 25 cm (10 inches), depth 12.5 cm (5 inches), or the total of three dimensions do not exceed 75 cm (30 inches) with the total weight not exceeding 1.5kgs(3.3lb). Notebooks, or portable personal computers are also applied with this condition.
- Walking sticks (crutches) used by elderly passengers, sick passengers, and handicapped passengers
- Infant food
Note:
Spot check may be performed against the test unit and/or weighing machine at the check-in counter and/or at the boarding gate to ensure compliance to these regulations.
Aftermarket Travel Gadgets
Other than equipment installed or supplied on the aircraft by THAI, passengers own equipment/devices/travel gadgets such as personal air purifier/ionizers, seat-recline preventer, knee defender, inflight beds e.g. Bed Box ,Jet Kids, Fly Baby, leg-rests, hammocks, infant canopies or similar devices are not allowed to use onboard due to :
- It may cause unsafe condition to the occupant and/or other passengers in the event of emergency.
- It may damage, obstruct or cause malfunction to aircraft system and/or aircraft equipment.
- It may cause disturbance to the adjacent passengers.
Measure Restricted : liquid, aerosol and gel
All liquids, aerosols, and gels in carry-on baggage must be carried in containers with a capacity not greater than 100ml.
- Liquids carried in containers larger than 100ml. are not accepted, even if the container is only partially filled.
- Containers must be placed in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of one litter.
- The plastic bag must be presented for visual examination at the screening point.
- Only one transparent re-sealable plastic bag per passenger may be permitted.
- Exemptions may be made for medications, baby milk/foods and passengers with special dietary requirements.
- The plastic bag must be presented separately from other cabin baggage at screening checkpoint.
- Items purchased either at airport duty free shops or on board aircraft must be packed in a sealed plastic bag, and not have been opened. Passengers may be required to display a satisfactory proof of purchase.
Your Cabin Baggage
- Lifting an overweight/oversized carry-on baggage to stow in an overhead locker, passengers may suffer muscle aches/pain. During turbulence, oversized/overweight baggage may fall on you or other passengers and cause injury. In case of emergency, it may also block the emergency exit routes and pose danger. For the sake of safety, every passenger is allowed one hand-carry baggage not over 7 kg or 45 linear inches (around 115 cm)to be taken on board, and properly stowed in a closed overhead bin.

Excess Baggage Charges in Domestic Sectors
All excess baggage must be assessed and charged before the passenger boards the aircraft.

Baggage carried in excess of the free baggage allowance is charged as follows, irrespective of the class paid for and used by the passenger.

- Excess Baggage Charge rate is per kilogram in THB (Thai Baht).
- The Excess Baggage Charge per kilogram for any additional THAI Domestic services is 1.5 percent of the highest normal direct one way economy class fare.
- Child and infant discounted rates are not applicable.
- For International Excess Baggage Charge rates are separately shown in USD (US Dollars).
- If baggage is through check from TG Domestic connecting to TG International sectors, the Excess Baggage through check portion of travel is applied by zoning basis.

- The condition on the 5th note, Currency Conversion: Excess baggage Charges published in USD only will be converted to the Local Currency by using the Banker’s Selling Rate on the date of baggage charged.

Smart Baggage
Passengers are required to carry this type of baggage as carry-on, any installed batteries must be removed prior to check-in to completely deactivate all electronics features. Each passenger is allowed to hand carry one baggage at maximum length 56 cm (22 inches), width 45 cm (18 inches) and thickness 25 cm (10 inches). These dimensions include wheels, handles, and side pockets. Total weight of the carry-on baggage must not exceed 7 kg (15 lb.). The baggage that exceeds the conditions and dimensions above shall only be processed as checked baggage.
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) reserved the right to refuse carriage of the baggage that exceeds the above conditions and dimensions as checked baggage if the installed lithium batteries are non removable type.

If you arrive at your destination without your checked baggage, rest assured that we’ll do everything we can to assist and have your baggage delivered to you as soon as possible.
If you’re unable to locate your bag on arrival:
- Please approach our ground staff at the airport immediately. You’ll have to complete a report to describe your bag in detail, along with your contact information and delivery address.
- You should expect to receive the following:
o A copy of your report
o A File Reference Number - If there are any other issues, please contact us through the respective Lost and Found offices listed here.
When your bag is found:
- We’ll notify you as soon as your baggage is found and deliver it to the address you specified, subject to“Local customs regulations”.
- Alternatively, you may collect your baggage from us at the airport.
If your bag is not found:
- In the unlikely event that your delayed bag is still not located, you’ll have to file a claim.

Delayed More than 24 Hours
- If your baggage is delayed more than 24 hours and you need to buy toiletries and other essential items, or you need to rent equipment because yours is delayed, we will reimburse you for these costs within reasonable limits.
Reimbursement
- The exact definition of what is reasonable depends on the individual situation, the purpose and the length of your trip. TG considers 100 USD/person/case for international route, 25USD/person/case for domestic route. You have to limit your expenses to reasonable necessities. Please note that this is your own responsibility. The reimbursements of extra costs are always based on acceptable documentation, so remember to save all receipts. You need to prove the extent of your loss.
- To get reimbursed for any expenses caused by your baggage delay you need to send a written claim to TG baggage claim service as soon as possible and no later than 21 days after the bag has been delivered to you. You must include your Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and receipts for all the expenses. For us to make any kind of reimbursement, you must have suffered an actual and proven financial loss.
- If your baggage is delayed on your trip home, we trust that you have access to the things you need. In these cases, the costs of essential items may not be covered by TG.
- In case your baggage remains lost, any reimbursements that we have already paid will be deducted from the final settlement.

If your baggage was damaged during a flight, bring it to the TG baggage service immediately after arrival. All damages have to be reviewed and evaluated by the baggage service office personnel. When you have reported the damaged baggage, the airport representative will give you a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). This is a unique file reference, connected to your baggage, and you must be sure that you receive a copy of the Property Irregularity Report.
Who you should contact:
- If you’re still at the airport, please approach our ground staff immediately.
- If you’ve already left the airport, please contact your local Thai Airways International office here. Please note that reporting your damage after you left the airport may cause you evidential difficulties.
*TG does not cover baggage that has not been reported to TG baggage service at the airport and where a claim to TG baggage claim service has not been written and filed within seven days of arrival.

If your baggage needs to be repaired or compensated by deduct depreciation
Depending on the damages of your baggage, it will be repaired or compensated by deducting depreciation. TG will help you repair or exchange your damaged bag. The registration to TG baggage support is considered a written claim and needs to be registered within seven days since the arrival date.
MAXIMUM LIABILITY
TG’ s liability, along with other airlines, is limited in accordance with the Montreal Convention. TG’s liability is limited to 1288 SDR (Special Drawing Rights = a currency exchange rate that may vary) per customer for checked and unchecked baggage, which is why it may be to your advantage to contact your insurance company for reimbursement.
TG is not liable for damage caused by:
- Over packing
- Water, rain or snow
- Fragile or perishable items inside
- Ordinary wear and tear (cosmetic or superficial damages)
- Damage to, or loss of, protruding parts of the baggage including, straps, pockets, hanger hooks, worn-out wheels, external locks, security straps, cover bag, name card, zipper tabs.
- Baggage accepted under the conditions of the Limited Release tag – this includes items retrieved or confiscated by the airport authorities or security personnel
Remarks
Please do not include valuables or electronic items, important documents or money in your checked baggage. Fragile or perishable items, congenital medicine should not be carried in checked baggage as well. Please read Contract of Carriage.
Items left onboard
- If you’ve left items behind on one of our aircraft that arrived in Bangkok, or at one of our lounges at Suvarnabhumi Airport or other locations, please contact your local Lost & Found office as soon as possible, at the number listed for your country here
*We’ll dispose uncollected items after 3 months.
Insurance
If you’ve purchased a travel insurance policy to cover your recent travel, you can consider making a claim against your travel insurance policy, which may provide you with a more comprehensive insurance coverage
Immediately after dropping off your baggage at either the check-in counters or self bag drop kiosks, then you can search where your baggage is located throughout your journey.

Information is given to you as-is and cannot be used to found any claims. Please contact ground staff at the arrival airport for more details.
THAI passengers who have already checked in via Self Service Check-in (Internet/THAI Mobile Application or Self Service Kiosk) by receiving a Mobile Boardingpass or a Confirm Receipt can load baggage at a dedicated Bag Drop at all airports.
For Bangkok International Airport, THAI has provided Bag Drop counters at Row C for domestic passengers and Row H-J for international passengers. In addition, passengers can also load baggage by yourselvesat Self Bag Drop counters at counter D1 and D2, after printing baggage tags from Self Service Kiosks. The operating hours are from 04:30-23:30hrs daily.
